GlenGrant 70 Bottled Whisky Investment
Stewart and Robertson are delighted to bring to you a revered bottle of GlenGrant 70.
Distilled in 1948 – the year “Scrabble” was introduced, the State of Israel created, Mahatma Gandhi, assassinated, and the Marshall Plan to aid post-war Europe was ratified – this exquisite whisky slumbered for the next seven decades in a first fill sherry butt that was disgorged in December 2018 and bottled in crystal decanters at its natural cask strength of 44.8% and with its natural, dark amber colour.
This is an exceptionally smooth and balanced single cask whisky, the nose bursting with sweet aromas of apricot jam and honey mingled with citrus peel and charred, mature oak that after moments give way to more masculine scents of polished leather and a subtle hint of smoke alongside a sweet, herbal influence.
The whisky is long, smooth, and balanced on the palate, initially sweet with delicate stewed fruit flavors followed by cracked peppercorns, zesty mandarin and aniseed with a lingering finish of mature oak, dried tobacco and gentle spices.
